Hey Don't Laugh... It's True!

I'll explain to you just how doable it was...

But before we get started a little background... I started getting interested in computers in the mid 1980's when I purchased my first CAD (Computer Aided Drafting) System for my garden design small business.

As the years progressed I eventually used the computer to store Client: Contracts, Files, Records, Invoices, etc… You get the picture.

I always wanted to start a website so my potential clients could view my work on line before we had our first consultation meeting. But somehow the free time to get the site up and running was never there... I'm sure you can all relate.

Meanwhile I lugged around bulky portfolios of my completed works to show potential clients prior to contracting with them for my garden design services. Although it became somewhat time consuming paging through what eventually grew into Three Decades of Gardens Designs, requiring Two+ Hours to present... The Presentation worked well in terms of signing new clients.

But soon my competitors started creating an on-line presence... And potential clients began asking if they could visit my website to view my completed works before our first meeting. Their requests eventually became the norm… The only problem was I didn't have a website.

I soon realized that if I was going to remain competitive as a garden designer and maintain the small business I had spent decades building... It was time I joined the information highway and got my completed works out there into cyberspace.

The problem for me was that I am one of those creative types who has to Do-It-Myself... I need to be totally involved in the process. So, instead of hiring a website designer I went on-line and read everything I could find about creating my own website.

It wasn't long before I realized that there was a lot more to building a website than just registering a domain name and getting the site up and running... You also had to get traffic to it.

Being a web newbie with no knowledge of html codes, etc. I soon realized that this was going to be no easy task without someone to guide me through it. I knew I could handle the aesthetic part but all the computer nerd jargon was beyond my grasp.
