The Woodlands, Texas and
As an artist in Pasadena, California in 1978 my chance meeting with Glen and Gail Hampton created a friendship which has
lasted over 30 years. Glen’s inspiring landscape designs for the Pasadena Showcase houses will always be in my memory. His
wife, Gail, would often select one of my paintings to be included in her own interior designs for the houses and I was always very honored to be a small part of the Hampton’s creations. Glen and Gail went on to collect ten of my paintings for their personal art collection. My work has since been included in several museum group exhibitions, corporate and private collections and I doubt I would have achieved that recognition without the Hampton’s early encouragement.
As I work on the landscaping for our family homes in The Woodlands, Texas and Whitefish, Montana I always rely on Glen’s advice even though it’s now in a long distance call. Rarely does even the potting of a small plant occur without my thinking to myself, “What would Glen do to make this plant a star in my garden?” I’m very grateful to Glen for being such a solid, pivotal entity in the placement of nature’s gifts.
Thank you Glen for the inspiration and knowledge you have shared with our family over these three decades. Our lives would not have been the same without your dedication to landscape architecture.
