In the mid nineteen eighties a series of newly planned residential communities were developed along the Mulholland Corridor. The sites located within these gated communities commanded sweeping views of the San Fernando Valley to the north and the Los Angeles Basin to the south. In 1985 two prominent Los Angeles attorneys, who had recently completed construction of their new Spanish Residence, contracted with Glen Hampton garden designs to design the gardens of their home. Landscape Designer Glen Hampton's design for this garden was influenced by the Spanish style architecture of the residence. The entrance to the site, a flag lot with a long narrow entrance drive presented a challenge, which was met by constructing driveway entrance gates paralleled by a long pedestrian entry walk leading to the main entrance. A classic Spanish style fountain set in a rose garden welcomes visitors into the entry courtyard. Passing through the courtyard you find yourself in the rear garden pool/entertainment area. The classic design of the pool is accented by a spa/fountain. The residence is surrounded by a side garden with a tiled wall fountain becoming the focal point when viewed from a large window set into the end of the Great Room. All paved areas are covered in Bouquet Canyon Stone. The pool and fountain tiles were hand selected from Country Floors/country Tiles. All plant materials were selected from Landscape Designer Glen Hampton's Mediterranean plant palette. Low voltage garden lighting brings the garden to life for night time entertaining. ![]() ALL CONTENT on this Site Copyright Protected ALL IMAGES on this Site Copyright Protected or images found on this site...
