This Encino residence was built in the sixties on a double lot with a shared driveway. In 2005 Glen Hampton garden designs was contacted by the owners and asked to redesign the existing asphalt entrance drive; spruce up the entry courtyard; and remodel the outdated man-made rock swimming pool located in a small rear garden. The driveway was resurfaced using the Appian Brick System "Random Design Pattern". The entrance to the entry courtyard was created by constructing a weathered copper faux finished gate and fence in a geometric pattern. The entry courtyard was spruced up with Chinese glazed planters from Asian Ceramics. New garden plantings included succulents, cactus, and grasses, selected for their sculptural qualities. Landscape Designer Glen Hampton's inspiration for the swimming pool remodel came from the interiors of the residence filled with colorful geometric carpets, furnishings, and art works similar to those made popular by artist Laddie John Dill, from the 70's era. The existing pool was stripped of its man-rock/boulders. New glass tiles were installed to enhance the pools existing water features. Plaster finished walls painted in purple hues brings the colorful interiors into the garden. Garden accents were added to the pool garden, include new plantings; Chinese glazed planters; and exterior art works... outdoor paintings of plants, and a whimsical goat sculpture grazing on the hillside above the pool. The dramatic night lighting completes the desired effect. This garden remodel was installed by DG Landworks Inc and CCI Pools. ![]() ALL CONTENT on this Site Copyright Protected ALL IMAGES on this Site Copyright Protected or images found on this site...
