Calabasas was once a sleepy suburb of Los Angeles, located at the West end of the San Fernando Valley. In the last few decades it has been transformed into a high end community of multimillion dollar homes, most of which are located within gated communities. In late 2005 Glen Hampton garden designs was contacted to by the Home Owners Association and asked to remodel the outdated Calabasas Hills Community and Estates: entrance walls; gate houses; and water features. The original entrance walls were plain stucco; The gate houses lacked detail; and the water features cascaded down pale blue tiles...The look screamed 70's-80's Contemporary. What the Association desired was an updated look more in keeping with the rustic setting of the natural hills surrounding the community. Landscape Designer Glen Hampton achieved this look by: Veneering the entrance walls with El Dorado Stone, installing new raised letters, plantings, and lighting; Creating stone details to enhance the bland architecture of the gate houses; and completely redesigning the entrance water features into rustic stone cascades. The unique gardens look is one of rustic simplicity in keeping with the surrounding Calabasas countryside. ![]() ALL CONTENT on this Site Copyright Protected ALL IMAGES on this Site Copyright Protected or images found on this site...
